The Company
Prax Lindsey Oil Refinery, located in North Lincolnshire, is a key asset of the Prax Group, a British multinational energy conglomerate dealing in crude oil, petroleum products and biofuels and is the only British refiner remaining in the UK energy market.
The refinery processes up to 5.4 million tonnes of crude oil per year (up to 113,000 barrels a day) and incorporates some of the most advanced refining and conversion processes in Europe, supplying products by road, rail, sea and pipeline.

The Candidate
We are currently recruiting for a Reliability & Asset Management Leader. Responsible for enhancing the availability and integrity of refinery assets by developing and implementing effective asset management and reliability strategies.
Key responsibilities include:
- Asset Integrity Leadership: Lead the implementation and governance of integrity management systems (IMS13) and associated key performance indicators.
- Reliability Strategy: Develop, support, and execute reliability frameworks and cost-optimised maintenance programmes.
- Failure Analysis: Investigate equipment failures, identify root causes, and implement measures to prevent recurrence.
- Maintenance Oversight: Guide the review of preventive maintenance plans and oversee execution quality and timeliness.
- Project Coordination: Manage non-project related plant and process modifications and support outage planning and execution.
- Performance Monitoring: Analyse and communicate reliability KPIs and drive improvements across units.
- Technical Supervision: Provide direction, mentorship, and training to staff and contractors, ensuring competence development.
- Contractor Management: Supervise site contractors, ensuring safety compliance and administrative tasks (e.g., timesheets, SES).
- Safety & Compliance: Promote and participate in HSEQI activities, ensuring adherence to safety standards and incident reporting.
- Engineering Documentation: Maintain and update technical records, documentation, and equipment spare parts strategies.
- RACI Matrix Maintenance: Create and maintain role responsibility matrices.
- Resource Planning: Participate in HR planning, recruitment, and succession reviews.
- Procurement Support: Prepare tenders and enquiry documents for major equipment and service procurement.
- Change Management: Ensure safe handover and documentation close-out in accordance with change management procedures.
- Communication Facilitation: Promote collaboration across disciplines and improvement teams.
Qualifications/Experience Required:
- Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline
- Strong communication, mentoring, and leadership skills
- High proficiency in reliability tools and techniques
- Sound understanding of CMMS and maintenance strategy tools
- 10–15 years of experience in an operational role within refining or petrochemical facilities
- Significant experience in maintenance, operations, and process safety
- Proven track record in driving asset reliability and integrity improvement
- Strong analytical mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
